Wiedemeier leads Kennedy bowlers

Alyssa Wiedemeier led Kennedy with a 336 series Tuesday as the Cougars
lost to Cedar Falls, 2422-2332, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at
the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Jessica Hinz and Christine Holman of Cedar Falls shared top honors with a
two-game total of 340.

CEDAR FALLS: Liz Gerstankam 113-194=307, Emily Barth 127-144=271, Jayden
Robe 112-110=222, Jessica Hinz 181-159=340, Rachel Sears 179-160=339,
Christine Holman 161-179=340.

KENNEDY: Megan Dunham 158-128=286, Riley Duggan 166-116=282, Niki Dean
156-151=307, Alyssa Wiedemeier 158-178=336, Lisa Warnock 129-177=306,
Laura Fischer 178-145=323.

Cedar Falls: 1597 Round 1 & 825 Round 2 = 2422.
Kennedy: 1558 Round 1 + 774 Round 2 = 2332.

Wiedemeier 6th at girls state bowl

DES MOINES - Jefferson senior Nicole Petersen rolled a 461 series to finish third Tuesday in the Class 2A girls state bowling tournament at Plaza Lanes.

Jefferson finished sixth in the team race. Washington was eighth.

Waterloo West won the tournament with a score of 3152.

Kennedy's Amanda Wiedemeier shot a 448 to finish sixth. Jefferson's Jessie Alff tied for ninth with a 438.

Kennedy - Girls Bowling

Strong Baker round carries Cougar girls

Kennedy erased an 87-pin deficit with a strong showing in the Baker round to beat Dubuque Senior, 2697-2680, Monday afternoon in girls bowling at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

Zariell Oldfield shot a 222 high game for Kennedy. Amanda Weidemeier shot a 215 and finished with a team-high 406 series for the Cougars.

Kennedy trailed by 87 pins after first-round singles, and still trailed by 58 pins after the third Baker game.

But the Cougars rolled a 215 in the fourth game to taake a one-pin lead and finished with a 199 that provided the 17-pin margin.

Kennedy rallies in Baker round for win

IOWA CITY - Kennedy made up a 70-pin deficit in the Baker round to beat Iowa City High, 2409-2382, Friday in girls bowling.

Amanda Wiedemeier shot high game of 206 for Kennedy. Wiedemeier and teammate Niki Dean tied for high series at 369.

Wiedemeier rolls Cougars past Lions

Amanda Wiedemeier was red-hot on the lanes again Thursday, rolling games of 204 and 279 for a 483 series that sent Kennedy past Linn-Mar, 2729-2527, in girls bowling at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

Wiedemeier's series total was 90 pins better than the nearest competitor.

Brooke McMorran rolled a 393 series to lead Linn-Mar. McKenzie Routhe's 211 was high game for the Lions.
