Red-hot Wiedemeier leads Kennedy girls bowlers

WATERLOO - Amanda Wiedemeier was on fire for the Kennedy girls on Friday, rolling games of 234 and 246 for a 480 series that carried the Cougars past Waterloo East, 2734-2545, at Cadillac Lanes.

Wiedemeier helped the Cougars build a 59-pin lead in the first round. Kennedy pulled away in the Baker round.

East's Trisa Elder shot a 264 high game.

Kennedy - Girls Bowling

Kennedy girls bowl over IC West

Amanda Wiedemeier and Jessi Schoettmer both had the line for the Kennedy girls bowlers Thursday against Iowa City West.

Wiedemeier rolled games of 203 and 186 for a 389 series, and Schoettmer had games of 161 and 205 for a 366. The Cougars bowled over West, 2445-2182.

Kennedy led by 168 pins after the first round.

Amanda Wiedemeier sparks Kennedy bowlers

DUBUQUE -- Amanda Wiedemeier had a consistent day with games of 182 and 189 for a two-game series of 371 as Kennedy topped Dubuque Hempstead, 2396-2088, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Cherry Lanes in Dubuque on Tuesday.

Niki Dean rolled a 190 for Kennedy to grab high-game honors.

KENNEDY: Laura Fischer 143-117=260, Lisa Warnock 145-120=265, Jessi Schoettmer 171-155=326, Niki Dean 120-190=310, Zariel Oldfield 144-152=296, Amanda Wiedemeier 182-189=371.

HEMPSTEAD: Elisa Schmidt 126-146=272, Belle Hines 142-99=241, Kaylee Gerken 151-147=298, Kaitlin Weber 148-124=272, Kristina Gruber 128-146=274, Courtney Ryder 187-167=354.

Kennedy: 1,568 Round 1 + 828 Baker Round 2 = 2396.

Hempstead: 1,470 Round 1 + 618 Baker Round 2 = 2088.

Fischer, Dean lead Kennedy bowlers

Laura Fischer and Niki Dean both rolled a 356 series Thursday as Cedar Rapids Kennedy was defeated by Waterloo West, 2734-2444, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Candace Newman of Waterloo West took top honors with games of 224 and 206 for a 430 series.

Wiedemeier sends Kennedy past Prairie

Amanda Wiedemeier had the line Thursday for Kennedy, rolling games of 213 and 179 for a 392 series that led the Cougars past Prairie, 2404-2173, at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Laura Fischer had a 318 series for Kennedy.

Rylee Blood led Prairie with a 316 series. The Hawks' Niona Bruce was injured in the first game of the first round and forced to withdraw.
