Cougars roll past City High girls bowlers

Ashley Hoppe rolled a 310 series and Amanda Wiedemeier a 306 to lead Kennedy past Iowa City High, 2270-2155, in girls bowling Friday afternoon at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Hoppe also shot high game for the Cougars with a 163. Jessi Schoettmer rolled a 162.

City High's Shannon Koppes took high game (193) and series (367) honors.

Kennedy bowlers roll by IC West girls

IOWA CITY - Amanda Wiedemeier took top honors with a 372 series Friday as Cedar Rapids Kennedy defeated Iowa City West by a count of 2,360 to 1,892 in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet at Colonial Lanes.

Amanda Gaffey rolled a 326 series for the Cougars.

Kennedy outlasts Prairie in girls bowling

Ashley Hoppe had the line for Kennedy on Friday afternoon, rolling a 224 high game and 388 series to lead the Cougars past Prairie, 2497-2436, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling match at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Allie McQuiston rolled a 193 game and 352 series for Kennedy.

Kate Palmer led Prairie with a 213 game and 395 series.

Kennedy built a 78-point lead in the first round. Prairie outscored the Cougars by 17 in the Baker round.

PRAIRIE (2436): Niona Bruce 158-302, Kate Palmer 213-395, Hailey Tollefson 127-251, Rebecca Kacena 170-297, Jami Kadolph 165-326.

Hoppe helps Kennedy bowlers top Washington

Ashley Hoppe rolled a two-game series of 424 Friday to help Kennedy trim Washington by a count of 2,320 to 2,286 in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Lancer Lanes.

Hoppe posted scores of 245 and 179 for her 424 series. Kelly Waters led Washington with a 194-170--364.

Kennedy - Girls Bowling

Cougars girls bowlers beat Waterloo East

Kennedy built a 69-pin lead in the first round and eased past Waterloo East, 2343-2212, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling meet Tuesday at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center.

Amanda Wiedemeier rolled a 369 series and Allie McQuiston had high game of 209 for Kennedy. McQuiston had a 353 series.

The meet was the first of the season for both squads.

KENNEDY (2343): Amanda Wiedemeier 185-369, Allie McQuiston 209-353, Jessie Zehme 160-307, Ashley Hoppe 156-290, Laura Fischer 132-247.

WATERLOO EAST (2212): Rachel Button 183-362, Olivia Ferrie 195-332, Shilo Luitjen 163-305, Alexus Loftus 158-276, Stefani Pacheco 130-222.
