Loss drops Cougar girls bowlers into 2nd
WATERLOO -- Nicole Nelson had the hot hand for Waterloo West and rolled the Wahawks past Kennedy, 2654-2498, Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls bowling match at Maple Lanes.
Nelson rolled high game (240) and series (432).
The loss knocked Kennedy (13-3, 6-2 MVC) out of a first-place tie with Dubuque Senior atop the Mississippi Division, pending the outcome of the rams' match at Iowa City West. The Cougars fell into a tie with Waterloo West (6-2, 6-2).
Paige Ermer rolled a pair of 179 games for a high series of 358 for Kennedy. Amanda Weidemeier had high game of 200.
