IOWA CITY - Led by a fourth-place finish from senior Andrew Solsrud, the Kennedy boys cross country team finished second Thursday at the Bob Brown Cross Country Classic at Kickers Soccer Park.
Mount Vernon-Lisbon won the team title with 58 points, followed by Kennedy with 66. Solsrud covered the 5-kilometer course in 17:44.98. Matt Manternach of Monticello won in 17:15.34.
The Cougar girls finished in third place, led by Hannah Fusselman's third-place finish. She ran the course in 20.41.31. Durant's Alyssa Williams won the event in 19:15.31.
Monticello win the team title with 45 points, followed by Mount Vernon-Lisbon (79) and Kennedy (97)
