Urbi leads Cougars at Hempstead swim

DUBUQUE - Brennan Urbi of Kennedy placed in four events at the Dubuque Hempstead Invitational swimming meet Saturday.

Urbi finished second in the 100 freestyle and was fourth in the 100 backstroke. He also swam the anchor legs on the 200 freestyle relay (fifth) and the 400 freestyle relay (sixth).

Bettendorf won the team championship. Kennedy placed fifth out of seven schools.

Cougars fall in final event

Dubuque Hempstead used a first-third finish in the last event of the meet to pull out an 87-83 win over Kennedy Thursday night in a boys swimming meet at Kennedy.

Despite winning only four of the first 10 events, Kennedy held a 79-77 lead heading into the final event.

Kennedy's Brennan Urbi, Cade Schoenauer and Stefan Kitsos were double winners.

Schoenauer shines in pool for Cougars

Freshman Cade Schoenauer won two individual events to lead Kennedy to a 123-43 win over Waterloo East Thursday night in a boys swimming meet at the Cougar pool.

Schoenauer won the 200 and 100 freestyle events. He also swam on the winning 200 free relay.

Sophomores Stefan Kitsos and Brennan Urbi also were triple winners for the Cougars. Kitsos won the 50 free and swam on the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Urbi won the 500 free and swam on the 200 and 400 free relays.
