Hunters Ridge gets 4A boys state golf meet

The Class 4A boys state golf meet in 2013 will be held at Hunters Ridge Golf Club in Marion, the IHSAA has announced.

Linn-Mar High School will serve as the host school for the state meet that will be held in October.

Lions claim quad by 1 stroke

IOWA CITY - Trevor McCann tied for medalist honors and Linn-Mar squeaked out a one-shot win Monday at the Iowa City West quadrangular at Finkbine golf course.

McCann and Iowa City West's Jacob Federici both shot 40 for low honors.

Linn-Mar finished first with a 171. West was second at 172 and Dubuque Wahlert third at 173.

Sevcik, Charlton lead Linn-Mar golfers

EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. - Jacob Sevcik and Bobby Charlton shot 7-over-par 43 Thursday for the Linn-Mar Lions at a Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular meet at the Lacoma Golf Course.

Waterloo West won the meet at 154, followed by Dubuque Wahlert (163), Dubuque Senior (166) and Linn-Mar (175).

Austin Jackson of Waterloo West claimed medalist honors with a 1-over 37.

McCann paces Lions in MVC golf meet

Trevor McCann shot an even-par 36 Thursday to claim medalist honors and led Linn-Mar to first place in a Mississippi Valley Conference triangular meet at Hunters Ridge.

Linn-Mar finished with a four-man total of 159, followed by Jefferson (169) and Dubuque Hempstead (173).
