No.1 Lions blank Bulldogs in tennis

BETTENDORF - Tim Paulson trimmed Michael Probucin, 6-4, 7-6, at No. 1 singles Thursday as the top-ranked Linn-Mar tennis team topped Bettendorf 6-0.

The doubles matches were not finished due to darkness.

Trevor McCann, Ben Meyers, Shane Skvor, Kyle Brendes and Lucas Huffman also won their singles matches for Linn-Mar.

No.1 Linn-Mar boys slam Warriors

Tim Paulson of Linn-Mar defeated Jackson Hoyt, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles Thursday as the top-ranked Lions knocked off fifth-ranked Washington 8-1 in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Linn-Mar.

The Lions remained unbeaten for the season and handed the Warriors their first loss.

Trevor McCann, Ben Myers, Shane Skvor, Kyle Brendes and Lucas Huffman also won their singles matches for Linn-Mar.

Tim Paulson defeated Gus Zuccaro at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-1, as the top-ranked Linn-Mar tennis team blanked Dubuque Senior 9-0 in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Linn-Mar.

Trevor McCann, Shane Skvor, Kyle Brendes, Lucas Huffman and Ben Hediger also won their singles matches for the Lions.

Paulson leads Linn-Mar tennis team

Tim Paulson cruised to a pair of victories at No. 1 singles Saturday as Linn-Mar defeated Cedar Falls and Waterloo West by identical 8-1 scores in Blackhawk County.

Paulson lost only three games all day. He topped Vineel Mallavarapu of Cedar Falls, 6-1, 6-2, and blanked Dane Hurst of Waterloo West, 6-0, 6-0.
