Linn-Mar tops Kennedy, J-Hawks

Defending state champion Brady Anderson was an impressive 6-0, 6-2 winner over Quinn Jamrock at No.1 singles, leading Linn-Mar to a 9-0 boys tennis win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy at Linn-Mar Saturday.

The Lions came back later in the day to down Jefferson, 8-1.

Lions capture title at Ankeny

ANKENY - Defending state champion Brady Anderson took the title at No. 1 singles to lead the Linn-Mar boys tennis team to the championship at Saturday's Ankeny Invitational.

The Lions scored 75 points, three better than runnerup West Des Moines Valley. Tim Paulson took top honors at No.2  singles while Kyle Brendes and Shane Skvor won at No. 4 doubles.

Linn-Mar girls win twice at PV

BETTENDORF - The Linn-Mar girls tennis team finished with a 2-1 record at the David Ramnath Invitational Saturday at Pleasant Valley.

The Lions topped Davenport Central, 9-0, and defeated Camanche, 8-1. They were nipped by Pleasant Valley, 5-4.

Jamie Wantock won all three of her singles matches for Linn-Mar.

Lions split with Iowa City netters

Brady Anderson won both of his matches at No.1 singles Saturday as Linn-Mar split a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference matches at Linn-Mar.

The Lions topped Iowa City High, 7-2, but lost to Iowa City West by the same score.

Anderson, the 2013 state singles champion, defeated Joe Hoff of Iowa City High, 6-1, 6-0. Anderson topped Blake Oetting of Iowa City West, 7-6, 6-1.
