Borschel, McDonough boosted Linn-Mar wrestling

Linn-Mar Coach Doug Streicher was one of the happiest guys in Omaha last March for the NCAA wrestling championships.

Jay Borschel and Matt McDonough, two Linn-Mar graduates, won NCAA titles for the University of Iowa that day to help the Hawkeyes claim their third national crown in a row.

Streicher was a proud man. He still is. His alma mater won another national title, and two of his former grapplers helped them do it.

Linn-Mar sophomore 103-pounder Ted Petersen (4-1) seized the day and pinned both of his opponents in Dubuque Thursday night (Dec. 16) in a combined time of 5:35.
