Prairie, Linn-Mar grapplers roll in Waterloo
WATERLOO -- Andrew Netolicky delivered in the clutch for the Cedar Rapids Prairie wrestling team Friday at the Battle of Waterloo.
Netolicky pinned Sean Lord of Waverly-Shell Rock in 1:04 in the final match of the Pool B finals to give Prairie a 32-28 victory over No.5 Waverly-Shell Rock.
The fourth-ranked Hawks advanced to the championship round on Saturday in the 32-team tournament along with Linn-Mar, West Delaware and Davenport Assumption. Those four teams will meet in a round robin to determine a champion.
The Linn-Mar Lions cruised through Pool C with three lopsided victories on Friday.
The championship round will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday with Prairie facing West Delaware and Linn-Mar meeting Davenport Assumption. The next round will begin at 6 p.m. with Linn-Mar facing West Delaware and Prairie meeting Assumption. The final round is scheduled for 8 p.m. with Prairie wrestling Linn-Mar and West Delaware facing Assumption.
