Linn-Mar girls roll past City High

Brooke McMorran rolled a 225 high game and 386 series to lead Linn-Mar past Iowa City High, 2490-2120, Friday in girls bowling at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

Paige Miller had a 328 series and McKenzie Routhe a 320 for the Lions.

Linn-Mar outscored City High 904-718 in the Baker round to pull away for the win.

Robe, Tegtmeier pace Lions to win

Dreyson Robe rolled a 479 series and Seth Tegtmeier a 471 to fire Linn-Mar past Iowa City High, 3260-2653, Friday in boys bowling at Cedar Rapids Bowl.

Robe shot games of 245 and 234. Tegtmeier rolled games of 243 and 228.

Justin Wyant rolled a 429 series and Trent Jochimsen a 407 for Linn-Mar.

No. 2 Lions crush Cougars, Rams

DUBUQUE - The second-ranked Linn-Mar High School wrestling team drubbed Kennedy and Dubuque Senior in a Mississippi Valley Conference double-dual in Dubuque Thursday night.

The Lions socked Kennedy, 71-3, and dumped Dubuque Senior, 66-9.

Alijah Jeffery (120), Damon Griffin (126), Shea Hartzler (138), Ross Lembeck (152) and Luke Wempen (170) had two pins for Linn-Mar.

Dubuque Senior defeated Kennedy, 46-33.

Linn-Mar girls rally past Hempstead

The Linn-Mar Lions enjoyed opening night in the Mississippi Valley Conference Tuesday with a 44-32 victory over Dubuque Hempstead at home.

The Lions (2-1, 1-0) were paced by Sara Strauel with 15 points. Mykaela Brandt and Kristen Eiles added seven points apiece.

Strauel scored 13 of her points in the second half as Linn-Mar rallied from a 19-17 halftime deficit.

Lions sunk by Waterloo West swimmers

Nate Greve and Duggan Trenary won two events apiece in Linn-Mar's 96-74 loss to Waterloo West in a boys swimming meet Tuesday at Coe.

Greve won the 50 and 500 freestyle events. Trenary won the 200 free and was on the winning 400 free relay.

Waterloo West won seven events.
