Olivia Garcia scored twice in the second half Monday to give No.2 Linn-Mar a 2-0 victory over Cedar Falls in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match.

Linn-Mar girls win twice at PV

BETTENDORF - The Linn-Mar girls tennis team finished with a 2-1 record at the David Ramnath Invitational Saturday at Pleasant Valley.

The Lions topped Davenport Central, 9-0, and defeated Camanche, 8-1. They were nipped by Pleasant Valley, 5-4.

Jamie Wantock won all three of her singles matches for Linn-Mar.

Lions split with Iowa City netters

Brady Anderson won both of his matches at No.1 singles Saturday as Linn-Mar split a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference matches at Linn-Mar.

The Lions topped Iowa City High, 7-2, but lost to Iowa City West by the same score.

Anderson, the 2013 state singles champion, defeated Joe Hoff of Iowa City High, 6-1, 6-0. Anderson topped Blake Oetting of Iowa City West, 7-6, 6-1.
