Linn-Mar High School - Marion, Iowa

Jaime Printy returns to Linn-Mar as coach

Jaime Printy set 14 school records during her prep basketball career at Linn-Mar High School and was named the 2009 Gatorade Player of the Year.

Now the former University of Iowa star has returned to Linn-Mar, this time as an assistant coach with the girls basketball team.

"Growing up around basketball, I always thought I wanted to stay around the sport because I love it so much," Printy said last week. "I always had coaches who influenced me in positive ways and I thought it would be awesome some day to give back and be able to have an impact on younger kids. I'm really excited about it."

The top seven scorers from last year's team graduated, leaving Aryn Jones as the top returning scorer at 1.8 points per game, but a gift came down from heaven and landed in the coach's lap.

Actually it was two gifts - the talented Sommer twins - and they came down from Dubuque Senior as welcome transfers for their senior year in high school.

Their mother changed jobs and her daughters, Kristie and Katie, became Linn-Mar Lions for the 2013-14 school year.
