Duval nets 2 goals as Marion tops Indee

Enoch Duval scored two goals and had an assist Tuesday as the Marion Indians blanked Independence, 6-0, in a Wamac Conference soccer match at Thomas Park.

Carter Stigge, Ben Kroemer, Trent Kuethe and Noah Walter also scored for Marion. Daniel Tribble had two assists and Noah Smith had another.

Marion raised its record to 5-1.

Marion girls blanked by Independence

INDEPENDENCE - The Marion girls soccer team lost to Independence, 1-0, in a Wamac Conference game in Independence Tuesday.=

Abby Phillips had nine saves for the Indians.

Marion boys trim Maquoketa, 5-4

The Marion Indians picked up crucial victories at No.2 doubles and No.3 doubles and nipped Maquoketa, 5-4, in a Wamac Conference boys tennis meet at Marion Monday.

Caleb Scott and Seth Tuetken won their match at No.2 doubles, 10-1. Peter Ward and Trevor Gamerdinger prevailed at No.3 doubles, 10-5.

Scott, Nate Meister and Gamerdinger won their singles matches for the Indians.
