SOLON - The Solon Spartans popped in eight 3-pointers Friday night and defeated Marion, 77-64, in a Wamac Conference boys basketball game at Solon.
Quinn Cannoy scored 20 points for Marion (3-5, 2-4). Craig Engle added 18 points and Daly Quinn contributed 16.
Nick Shelman led a balanced attack with 19 points for Solon (6-1, 5-1).
Michalyn Mohr and Amanda Sahm combined for 50 points Friday night as the Marion Indians defeated Solon, 62-51, in a Wamac Conference game at Marion.
Mohr poured in 26 points and Sahm added 24 as the Indians (2-7, 2-4) won their second game of the season. Marion made 26 of 33 free throws.
Solon fell to 4-6 overall and 2-6 in the Wamac.
Zach Prucha had the line for Marion Friday at Cedar Rapids Bowl.
Prucha rolled a 243 high game and 442 series for Marion. The Indians finished third in the triangular bowling meet.
Western Dubuque won with a 3264. Vinton-Shellsburg was second with a 2807, followed by Marion with a 2724.
Bre Smith rolled a 235 high game and 385 series to lead the Marion girls to victory Friday in a triangular bowling meet at Cedar Rapids Bowl.
Marion won with a 2510 total. Western Dubuque was second with 2261, followed b y Vinton-Shellsburg with 1659.
Taylor Lamm rolled a 202 game for Marion.
DYERSVILLE - Caleb Conway, Colin Conway, Nick Kramer and Dalton Gardner collected pins for the Marion Indians Thursday night in a Wamac Conference double dual in Dyersville.
Marion lost to Benton Community, 49-27, and fell to Dyersville Beckman, 57-18.
Jack Serbousek won a decision against Benton Community.
