Kelly leads Marion boys to 2nd

Ian Kelly's 405 series paced Marion to a second place finish in a boys triangular bowling meet Friday at Marion Bowl.

West Delaware won with a score of 2908. Marion was second at 2711 and Independence third at 2474.

Jonah Miell shot a 218 high game and 391 series for Marion.

West Delaware's Dylan Werner shot a 290 high game and 487 series.

Smith fires Marion to 2nd in triangular

Bre Smith fired a 359 series to lead Marion to second place Friday in a triangular girls bowling meet at Marion Bowl.

West Delaware won the meet with a score of 2497. Marion was second with 2078 and Independence was third with 1664.

Taylor Lamm shot a 352 series for Marion.

Indian matmen split at Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG - Marion split a pair of Wamac Conference wrestling matches Thursday night.

The Indians beat Clear Creek Amana, 52-17, but lost to host Williamsburg, 65-9.

Marion received five forfeits and recorded three pins against Clear Creek Amana. Levi Lochner, Kyle Grandon and Mitch Ross all had falls for the Indians.

Marion won only two matches against Williamsburg. Klein Walker had a fall at 106 and Grandon won in overtime at 195.

Marion boys sail by Columbus

WATERLOO - Daly Quinn topped a balanced attack with 11 points Tuesday night as the Marion Indians defeated Waterloo Columbus, 49-31, in a Wamac Conference game in Waterloo.

Isaac Frazier scored 10 points for Marion (1-2), Quinn Cannoy chipped in with nine points and Tyler Gunderson had eight.

Mitch Eighme led Waterloo Columbus with 14 points.

Mohr, Sahm lead Marion girls past Columbus

Michalyn Mohr score 18 points and Amanda Sahm added 14 to lead Marion past Waterloo Columbus, 65-51, Tuesday night in a Wamac Conference girls basketball game at Marion.

Beth Knapp added 12 points, including three 3-pointers, for Marion (3-2, 3-1).

Marion held a 32-31 lead at halftime, but held Columbus to 20 points in the second half.
