Smith rolls 409 series for Marion

MANCHESTER - The Marion girls bowling team fell to West Delaware 2,771 to 2,152 Friday at Lightning Lanes.

Bre Smith rolled a 206 game and a 409 series for the Indians.

Hope Moeingo had a 299 game and a 535 series for West Delaware.

Steward rolls 403 series for Marion

MANCHESTER - Jarrett Steward rolled a 227 game and a 403 series for the Marion boys bowling team in a 2,898 to 2,659 loss to West Delaware on Friday at Lightning Lanes.

Trae Boge had a 441 series to lead West Delaware.

MARION: Jarrett Steward 176-227=403, Dylan Nash 214-180=394, Dakota Timmerman 221-149=370, Nate Meister 177-178=355, Parker Ridge 148-167=315, Connor Bjornsen 136-131=261.

Lions, Cougars climb in rankings

The Linn-Mar Lions and Kennedy Cougars made big jumps in the IGHSAU girls basketball rankings Friday.

The Lions climbed four spots to No. 6 in Class 5A and the Cougars jumped five spots to No. 7.

The Marion Indians fell two places to No. 6 in Class 4A. The Xavier Saints dropped out of the Class 4A rankings.

No. 6 Marion girls rip Williamsburg

The sixth-ranked Marion girls basketball team hit eleven 3-point goals and crushed Williamsburg, 64-23, Friday at Marion.

Chloe Rice scored 22 points to lead the Indians. Caitlin Smith had 11 points with three 3-pointers.

Marion improved to 4-1, while Williamsburg fell to 2-4.

Manderscheid helps Marion top Raiders

WILLIAMSBURG – Jacob Manderscheid scored 14 points to lead the Marion boys basketball team to a 46-41 win over Williamsburg.

The Indians (2-2) used a 16-1 run in the third quarter to build a 21-10 halftime lead. The Raiders came back in the second half, but Marion held on down the stretch.

Williamsburg fell to 0-4.
