Hargens leads Cougars at Brown Deer

IOWA CITY - Sierra Hargens shot an 8-over-par 44 Tuesday as Kennedy placed third in a Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular meet at Brown Deer.

Emily Machula and Emily Perrin had 52's for Prairie, which finished fourth.

Prairie netters bounced by City High

Connor Anthony and Brandon Bruhn won their match at No.2 doubles for Cedar Rapids Prairie Tuesday in an 8-1 loss to Iowa City High in a Mississippi

Valley Conference meet at Prairie.

Joe Hoff of Iowa City High swept Connor Anthony at No.1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Cunningham, Butler lead Kennedy netters

Jimmy Cunningham and Kyle Butler won both of their singles matches Saturday as Kennedy split a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meets at Kennedy.

The Cougars bounced Prairie, 7-2, and lost to Iowa City High, 5-4.

Cunningham and Butler were victorious in both of their matches at No.2 and No.3 singles.

Washington edges Prairie, 5-4

Jennifer Greif and Caroline Rossberger came through with the deciding win at No. 3 doubles, giving Cedar Rapids Prairie a 5-4 win over Washington on Saturday at Washington.

The Warrior duo outlasted the Hawks' Karleigh Schilling and Lauren O'Brian, 10-8 to clinch the meet for Washington.

Prairie girls down Kennedy, 8-1

Bri Kalous won in a tiebreaker at No. 4 singles to lead Prairie to an 8-1 girls tennis victory over Kennedy on Saturday at Prairie.

Kalous took the tiebreak by a 7-4 score. The Hawks won five of six singles matches and swept the doubles.
