Xavier girls outlast Prairie

Lexi Noonan scored 12 points and McKenna Andersen added 10 as Xavier downed Prairie, 49-41, in a Mississippi Vavlley Conference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Xavier.

Olivia Usher led the visiting Hawks with a game-high 20 points. Lynsey Altenhofen added 11.

Mims leads Xavier boys by Prairie

Matthew Mims had 20 points to lead the Xavier boys basketball team to a 66-46 win over Prairie Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at Prairie.

Max Techau scored 15 points for the Saints (6-1). Mitchell Burger and Jackson Joens added 14 points apiece. Burger had five steals.

Mims and Joens both hit four 3-pointers. Xavier put the game away with a 21-11 run in the third quarter.

Cal Clark scored 14 points for the Prairie Hawks (4-4) and Jalen Rima added 10.

Prairie boys nip Saints in bowling

Shawn Wille rolled a 414 series Monday to help the Prairie Hawks nip Xavier, 2694-2591, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys bowling meet at May City Lanes.

Jacob Fulton of Xavier took top honors with a 246 game and 443 series.

Keiper sparks Prairie girls by Xavier

Sabrina Keiper enjoyed a big day as the Prairie girls bowling team topped Xavier, 3043-2184, in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Lancer Lanes Monday.

Keiper rolled games of 211 and 268 for an impressive 479 series for the Hawks. Ashley Sundstrom added a 212 game and 404 series for Prairie.

Prairie boys spanked by Lancers

Bailey Basala poured in 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds Saturday as North Scott defeated Prairie, 62-38, in a boys basketball game at Prairie.

The Lancers, who are the defending state champions, raised their record to 6-1.

Jake Eilers led Prairie (4-3) with 11 points.
