Prairie girls bump off Jefferson

The Prairie girls bowling team downed Jefferson 2,762 to 2,415 Friday at May City Bowl.

Megan Kitzmiller had a 203 game and 370 series for the J-Hawks. Madison Rasmussen was close behind with a 368 series.

Ashley Sundstrom rolled a 216 game and 404 series for the Prairie Hawks.

Sturtz leads J-Hawks by Prairie

The Jefferson boys bowling team topped Prairie 3,001 pins to 2,455 Friday at May City Bowl.

Hunter Sturtz had a 236 game and a 451 series to lead the J-Hawks.

Matt Galloro rolled a 190 game and a 364 series for the Prairie Hawks.

JEFFERSON: Hunter Sturtz 236-215=451, Tyler Fowler 195-223=418, Riley Walton 203-202=405, John Gardner 185-202=387, Tanner Bennett 194-183=377, Logan Miller 179-166=345.

Wagemester sparks Prairie by Rams

DUBUQUE - Jenna Wagemester collected 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals Friday night as the Cedar Rapids Prairie girls basketball team rolled by Dubuque Senior, 69-30, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game in Dubuque.

Halle Person scored eight points for Prairie.

The Hawks raised their record to 4-2. Dubuque Senior fell to 0-5.

Prairie boys top Rams in OT

The Cedar Rapids Prairie boys basketball team beat Dubuque Senior, 65-61, in overtime Friday at Prairie.

Jalen Rima had 16 points for the Prairie Hawks (3-1), Cal Clark scored 15 points and Max Smith-Drahos added 12.

Carter Stevens had 24 points for the Rams (1-2).

No. 6 Prairie tops Wash, City High

The sixth-ranked Prairie wrestling team cruised to a pair of victories over Washington and Iowa City High in a double-dual Thursday night at the Prairie gym.

Marcus England, Chase St. John and Casey Hogan won both of their matches for the Hawks. England and St. John collected a pin and major decision, while Hogan had a pin and regular decision.

Will Foreman won both of his matches at 126 pounds at Washington for a 9-0 record this season.
