Kamin leads golfers at Hunters Ridge

MJ Kamin of Cedar Rapids Washington fired a 41 to claim medalist honors at a quadrangular girls golf meet at Hunters Ridge on Thursday.

Teresa Lopez Moreno shot a 42 for Linn-Mar to help the Lions win the meet by five strokes over Washington, 192-197.

C.R. Washington ranked in boys soccer poll

Five boys soccer teams from the Cedar Rapids Metro area are ranked by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association in the first poll of the regular season.

The Xavier Saints are the top team in Class 2A.

Kennedy, Washington and Linn-Mar are ranked 3-4-5 in Class 3A,  and the Prairie Hawks are ranked 16th.

Iowa City West is the No.1 team in Class 3A.

Wash boys net victory at City High

IOWA CITY — Ian Schweiger, Parker Muller, Oliver Hammond and Ian McElree won their singles matches Tuesday as the Cedar Rapids Washington Warriors clipped Iowa City High, 7-2, in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet in Iowa City.

Schweiger and Hammond paired for a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No.1 doubles.

Wash girls net win over City High

Hannah Sherman, Rina Moore, Jennifer Greif, Kelly King and Callie Cook won their singles matches Tuesday as Washington bounced Iowa City High, 7-2, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls tennis meet at Washington.

Sherman and King won their match at No.2 doubles. Cook and Greif prevailed at No.3 doubles.

No. 6 Warriors top Davenport Central

DAVENPORT - Alex Kennedy scored the only goal of the game Monday as the sixth-ranked Washington boys soccer team blanked Davenport Central, 1-0, in Davenport.

Emmanuel Hidalgo-Wohlleben collected the assist on Kennedy's goal.

Gunnar Lenzen pitched a shutout in goal as the Warriors raised their record to 3-0.
