Visser helps Wash upset IC West

Anne Visser scored 15 points and had four steals as the Washington girls basketball team upset 15th-ranked Iowa City West, 60-51, Friday at Washington.

Jayla Johnson had 13 points, seven rebounds, three blocks and four steals for the Warriors (4-4).

Washington led 35-33 entering the fourth quarter before pulling away down the stretch.

Maddie Huinker had 11 points and Logan Cook had 10 for the Women of Troy (6-1).

Wake paces Washington girls in bowling

WATERLOO – Elle Wake rolled a 181 game and a 350 series to lead the Washington girls bowling team in a 2,215 to 2,005 loss to Cedar Falls on Friday at Maple Lanes.

Rachael Sears had a 318 series for the Tigers.

Washington boys fall to Cedar Falls

WATERLOO – Chris Schutteloffel had a 174 game and a 307 series as the Washington boys bowling team suffered a 2,683 to 2,182 loss to Cedar Falls on Friday at Maple Lanes.

Brandon Jerome rolled a 418 series for the Tigers.

Kennedy wrestlers knock off Warriors

The Kennedy wrestling team had three pins in a 57-22 win over Washington on Thursday at Kennedy.

Cam Shaver (113 pounds), Nolan Hromidko (132) and Logan Rodriguez (152) posted the pins for the Cougars.

Ronnie Arenas (120), Will Foreman (126) and Billy Faulkner (220) had pins for the Warriors.

Wash swimmers dunked by Dubuque

DUBUQUE – Nick Saulnier won two events as the Washington boys swimming team lost 105-65 to Dubuque Senior on Thursday.

Saulnier took the 50-yard freestyle in 22.31 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 49.60 for the Warriors. Matt Jackson won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.57 for Washington.
