Xavier fell from fourth to fifth in Class 4A in the weekly girls basketball poll released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
Xavier dropped a spot after losing by 20 points to Iowa City High last Friday. The Little Hawks were No. 2 in the Class 5A poll at that time, but are No. 6 in this week's rankings.
Kennedy, meanwhile, held on to the No. 9 spot in Class 5A.
OTTUMWA - Trey Sampson collected 18 points, four assists and four steals Tuesday as the Xavier Saints stayed undefeated with a 63-33 victory at Ottumwa.
Adam McDermott chipped in with 13 points for the Saints (3-0). Matt Nelson grabbed eight rebounds.
Carter Burns led Ottumwa (0-2) with 12 points.
WAVERLY - Trey Sampson hit three 3-pointers and scored 19 points Friday night as Xavier clipped Waverly-Shell Rock, 49-46, in a non-conference boys basketball game in Waverly.
Adam McDermott scored 11 points for the Saints (2-0) and Corbin Woods netted 10.
Klinton Carlson topped Waverly-Shell Rock (1-1) with 17 points.
IOWA CITY - Haley Lorenzen scored 20 points Friday night and Mickey Hansche added 17 as Iowa City High defeated Xavier, 56-36, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls basketball game in Iowa City.
Ashley Stulken led Xavier (3-1, 1-1) with nine points.
The Little Hawks (4-0, 2-0) are ranked No. 2 in Class 5A. The Saints are ranked No. 4 in Class 4A.

Miller had high game and series.
Kyle Elliott shot a 204 game for the Saints.
