Bailey named Xavier volleyball coach

Katie Bailey did not have to wait very long to land her first job after graduating from St. Ambrose University this spring.

Bailey has been named the new volleyball coach at Xavier High School and will teach English at Regis Middle School with the start of the 2014-15 school year.

Bailey played volleyball at St. Ambrose for four years and served as a team captain during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. She was named Academic All-Conference for three years and was chosen as the NAIA "Champion of Character" for the 2013 volleyball season.

"Katie is an outstanding person and will provide enthusiasm, energy and excitement to the Xavier volleyball program," said Xavier activities director Mike Winker. "She will be a positive role model and dynamic leader for our volleyball athletes."
