SPRINGVILLE - Mike Scroggs scored eight points to lead Cedar Valley Christian in its 55-26 loss to Maquoketa Valley Friday night in Tri-Rivers boys basketball.

Hembera has huge game for Huskies

SPRINGVILLE - Shelby Hembera collected 40 points, 19 rebounds, six blocks, three steals and two assists for the Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team Thursday night in a 61-44 loss to Alburnett.

"It wasn't her career high, but it was the best game of her career," said CVC Coach Craig Foote. "That's better than LeBron James' best game this year and he gets 16 extra minutes."

The 17-point loss was the closest game of the year for the Huskies, who fell to 0-14.

Huskie boys score season-high 48 points

ALBURNETT - Tom Scroggs scored 17 points and Michael Johnson 15 as Cedar Valley Christian scored a season-high 48 points Thursday night. The Huskies were beaten by Alburnett, 77-48.

Alec Philipp led Alburnett with 27 points. He knocked down six of the Pirates' 10 3-pointers.

Huskies routed by Marquette

BELLEVUE - Marquette splashed in 11 3-pointers and routed Cedar Valley Christian, 89-32, Tuesday in Tri-Rivers boys basketball.

Tom Scroggs led Cedar Valley with 10 points. Mike Scroggs had eight.
