Hembera pours in 43 for Huskies

SPRINGVILLE - Shelby Hembera scored a career-high 43 points and snared 13 rebounds Friday night as Cedar Valley Christian lost to Easton Valley, 75-47, in Springville.

Hembera, a 6-foot senior, made 17 field goals and was 8 for 10 at the foul line. She also hit a 3-point shot.

Emily Masterson and Miriam Chadima scored two points apiece for the winless Huskies (0-12).

Lizzie Meier scored 19 points for Easton Valley (4-6). Gabby Vasconcelos had 18 points and Lexi Theisen had 17.

SPRINGVILLE - Easton Valley drained 13 3-pointers and rolled past Cedar Valley Christian, 94-28, Friday night in a boys basketball game.

Chase Zaruba scored 33 points to lead Easton Valley.

Travis Geels led Cedar Valley with eight points.

SPRINGVILLE - Shelby Hembera scored 36 points for Cedar Valley Christian Tuesday night as the Huskies lost to Prince of Peace, 58-40, in Springville.

Cedar Valley fell to 0-11 for the season. Prince of Peace is 4-7.

Hembera nets 37 points for CVC

WHEATLAND - Shelby Hembera collected 37 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots for Cedar Valley Christian Saturday in a 67-41 loss at Calamus-Wheatland.

Hembera hit 15 of 34 shots from the field and was 6 for 8 at the foul line. Janella Ceballos had five assists and four rebounds for Cedar Valley. Emily Masterson scored four points. Megan Slagle had three assists and Emily Foote had two assists.

The Huskies fell to 0-10 for the season. Calamus-Wheatland raised its mark to 2-9.
