WYOMING - Shelby Hembera scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Friday night as Cedar Valley Christian lost to Midland of Wyoming, 65-26.

The Huskies fell to 0-9 for the season.

Alaina Martensen scored 16 points for Midland (6-2).

LISBON - Shelby Hembera scored 28 points Friday night as Cedar Valley Christian (0-8) lost to Lisbon, 68-30, in a Tri-Rivers Conference game at Lisbon.

Danielle Heiken scored 19 points for Lisbon (2-7).

Lisbon boys rout Cedar Valley, 74-20

LISBON - Lisbon rolled up 63 points in the first half and cruised past Cedar Valley Christian, 74-20, Friday night in boys basketball.

Ryan Light led Lisbon with 23 points.

Mike Scroggs led Cedar Valley with six points.

Hembera is humble star for Huskies

The rules of play for the Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team are pretty simple.

Call it the law of the long-armed: Place lanky and agile 6-foot Shelby Hembera firmly in the middle of the action and work everything around her.

On defense, her wide wing-span forces the other team to make passes to the outside. Or, if they dare, try to shoot over her.

If they miss, she’ll get the rebound.
