Cedar Valley falls to Midland

The Cedar Valley Christian volleyball team lost to Midland, 25-21, 25-15, 23-25, 25-14, in a match Tuesday night at Cedar Valley.

Maggie Cach collected nine kills, six digs and five assists for the Huskies. Candace Wilson had nine assists and nine digs. Emma Slagle finished with 13 digs.

Hanna Severson had seven digs for Cedar Valley. Nicole Hartman blocked three shots.

Huskies make finals of volleyball tourney

WATERLOO - The Cedar Valley Christian volleyball team lost to Waterloo Christian, 25-16, 25-17, in the championship match of the Waterloo Christian tournament Saturday.

The Huskies went 2-2 in the tournament. They defeated Cal Latimer (21-15, 21-11) and Valley Lutheran (21-15, 21-11) before falling to Waterloo Christian in their first meeting of the day, 24-22, 10-21, 15-9.

Cedar Valley then faced Waterloo Christian again in the finals.

Candace Wilson collected 21 kills, 18 assists and 13 digs for the Huskies in the tournament. Maggie Cach had 20 assists, 15 kills and 13 digs. Emma Slagle finished with 37 digs.

Cedar Valley falls to Midland, 70-14

WYOMING - Apollo Betsworth and Colin Heeren scored touchdowns for the Cedar Valley Christian football team Friday night in a 70-14 loss at Midland of Wyoming.

Betsworth carried the ball 13 times for 92 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. Heeren rushed three times for 51 yards and caught a pass for 52 yards.

Travis Geels scored on a two-point conversion for the Huskies.

Drew Gustafson led Cedar Valley with 12 tackles.

Cedar Valley spiked by Cal-Wheatland

WHEATLAND - The Cedar Valley Christian volleyball team lost to Calamus-Wheatland, 25-6, 25-12, 25-6, Thursday night in a Tri-Rivers Conference meet in Wheatland.

Candace Wilson had four kills and five digs for the Huskies. Maggie Cach finished with three kills and four assists. Emma Slagle had eight digs.

Cedar Valley falls to Lansing Kee

The Cedar Valley Christian football team lost to Lansing Kee, 60-16, in an 8-Player game Friday night at the LaSalle Middle School field.

Colin Heeren and Jared Boelter scored touchdowns for the Huskies. Travis Geels rushed for 81 yards, Apollo Betsworth ran for 71 yards and Heeren finished with 70 yards on the ground.

Betsworth and Geels scored on 2-point conversions. The Huskies did not complete a pass in the entire game.

Cedar Valley fell to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in District 4. Lansing Kee raised its records to 2-3 and 2-1.
