Cedar Valley girls fall in final seconds

SPRINGVILLE - The Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team suffered a 45-42 loss to Prince of Peace in the final seconds Tuesday night.

Cedar Valley rallied from an eight-point deficit and tied the game, 42-42. The Huskies had the ball with 30 seconds left with a chance to take the lead, but they missed a shot.

Prince of Peace scored the last three points of the game for the victory.

Molly Hembera scored 19 points for Cedar Valley Christian (7-12). Maggie Cach added 11 points for the Huskies.

Prince of Peace stops CVC

SPRINGVILLE - Devin Bilek scored 18 points to lead Prince of Peace to a 62-39 win over Cedar Valley Christian on Tuesday night.

Tom Scroggs led the Huskies (1-17, 0-15 Tri-Rivers Conference) with 11 points. Travis Geels finished with 10 points.

SPRINGVILLE - Alex Martens poured in 34 points Thursday night as Midland of Wyoming topped Cedar Valley Christian, 67-44, in a boys basketball game in Springville.

Travis Geels scored 13 points and Tom Scroggs had 12 for Cedar Valley (1-16).
