Mount Mercy spiked by Clarke

The Mount Mercy volleyball team lost to Clarke, 25-15, 20-25, 25-22, 25-18, in a Midwest Collegiate Conference match at the Hennessey Recreation Center Tuesday night.

Megan Paustian led the Mustangs with 13 kills.

Abbie Perez had 16 assists, Emily Hendrickson 15 assists and Samantha Meyer 13 digs.

Mustangs move soccer to Kingston

Due to poor field conditions at Lower Kingston Field, Wednesday's Midwest Collegiate Conference soccer doubleheader between Viterbo and Mount Mercy has been moved to Kingston Stadium.

The women's match will now begin at 11 a.m., with men's action to follow at approximately 1 p.m.

Liz Mosbach honored by MCC

Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy has been honored by the Midwest Collegiate Conference as the women's cross country athlete of the week.

Mosbach finished third out of 54 runners at the Lamb-Kohawk Invitational at Noelridge Park Saturday. Her time was 23 minutes, 37 seconds for six kilometers.

Goodfellow takes 5th at Osky golf

OSKALOOSA - Madison Goodfellow of Mount Mercy University finished fifth at the William Penn Invitational at the Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa Saturday.

Goodfellow shot rounds of 81 and 79 for a 36-hole score of 18-over-par 160.

Mount Mercy placed third out of seven teams in the standings. William Penn won the title title behind medalist Maggie Yang, who shot a 3-over 145.

Team Standings

1. William Penn 615, 2. William Penn "B" 680, 3. Mount Mercy 681, 4. Olivet Nazarene 691, 5. Ashford 703, 6. Walforf 727, 7. Iowa Central 750.

Mount Mercy - Madison Goodfellow 81-79=160, Kelsey Dircks 88-80=168, Meg Monson 84-85=169, Paige Wenger 94-90=184, Chelsea Gryp 98-91=189.

 

Keith, Mosbach run 3rd for Mustangs

Tyler Keith and Liz Mosbach of Mount Mercy finished third Saturday at the Lamb-Kohawk Cross Country Invitational at Noelridge Park.

Keith finished the men's race in 27 minutes, 1.3 seconds. Drew Burmahl, running unattached, was the winner in 26:07.1.

Mosbach finished the women's race in 23 minutes, 37.0 seconds. Sanjuanita Martinez of Cornell was the winner in 22:45.0.

Grinnell won the men's title. Mount Mercy placed third and Coe finished fourth.

Cornell captured the women's crown. Mount Mercy finished second and Coe was fifth.
