Mount Mercy University - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Mount Mercy kicks Judson, 5-0

The Mount Mercy Mustangs got goals from five different players Saturday and blanked Judson (Ill.), 5-0, in a men's soccer match at the Lower Kingston Field.

Fergus O'Connor, Kevon Farquharson, Hieu Ngo, Marco Fichtner and Yinka Ajibola found the net for the Mustangs, who raced to a 4-0 lead in the first half.

Mohamed Hamed, Farquharson, Fichtner and Haris Hadzalic collected assists for Mount Mercy (8-1). O'Connor's goal was unassisted.

Tomas Zajfert made two saves in goal for the Mustangs for the shutout.

 

Mount Mercy women boot Calumet

Cally Salter, Kelsey Ryan and Aminah Baloch scored goals Saturday as the Mount Mercy women's soccer team defeated Purdue Calumet, 3-1, at the Lower Kingston Field.

Taylor Eaker and Salter collected assists. Baloch tallied on a corner kick.

Hannah Schroeder made three saves for Mount Mercy (7-2) in the 90-minute contest. Kirsten Nirtaut scored for Purdue Calumet (4-3).

 

Coe women blank Mustangs in soccer

Sarah Fathallah and Keira Frederito scored goals in the second half Friday as Coe blanked Mount Mercy, 2-0, in a women's soccer match at Coe.

MJ Winterer made three saves in goal for the shutout.

Meg Tulenko and Jordan Holmes collected assists for the Kohawks (3-4). Mount Mercy fell to 6-2.

   

Mustangs spiked by Benedictine

SIOUX CITY - The Mount Mercy volleyball team lost to Benedictine, 17-25, 25-15, 27-25, 31-29, in a tight match in Sioux City Friday.

Megan Paustian had 15 kills for the Mustangs and Demi Heiss had 12. Abby Perez collected 26 assists and Emily Hendrickson had 16.

Samantha Meyer contributed 17 digs for Mount Mercy. Emma Pisarik had six blocks.

The Mustangs also dropped a 3-1 decision to Morningside College.

 

Mustangs spiked by Culver-Stockton

CANTON, Mo. - The Mount Mercy volleyball team was swept by Culver-Stockton, 25-20, 25-13, 25-15, in a non-conference match Wednesday night in Canton, Mo.

Abbie Perez had 13 assists and six digs for the Mustangs (6-7). Leslie Hoffmann and Hannah Whitley had six kills. Samantha Meyer contributed 18 digs.

Kamrin Gold and Chelsea Rhoades had nine kills for Culver-Stockton (11-3).
