Lions sink Senior, advance to regional final

Linn-Mar scored three second-half goals and rolled past Dubuque Hempstead, 4-0, Wednesday in a Class 3A girls soccer regional semifinal at Linn-Mar Stadium.

The 10th-ranked Lions (12-6) advance to Monday's regional final against No. 8 Washington (15-3) at Kingston Stadium at 7 p.m. The Warriors beat Dubuque Senior, 6-0, Wednesday.

Linn-Mar held a 1-0 lead at halftime thanks to Leandra Martins' penalty kick goal with 10 minutes left in the opening half.

Kali Hubler, Madisen Garman and Erica Noyes scored second-half goals. Hubler also had an assist.

Linn-Mar blanks Bettendorf in girls soccer

Seniors Kali Hubler and Madisen Garman scored goals for the Linn-Mar girls soccer team Thursday in a 2-0 victory over Bettendorf on Senior Night at Linn-Mar.

Molly Brandt picked up an assist for the Lions (11-6).

Lions drop Wahlert girls in OT

Kristin Thom's goal four minutes into the first overtime lifted Linn-Mar past Dubuque Wahlert, 1-0, Tuesday night in girls soccer at Linn-Mar Stadium.

The win lifted Linn-Mar (10-6, 9-4 MVC) into third place in the Mississippi Division in the conference finale. Wahlert finished the regular season at 11-6, 8-5.

There was a lengthy delay during halftime of the game when severe thunderstorms rolled through the area.

Linn-Mar closes out the regular season Thursday at home against Bettendorf.

Linn-Mar girls beaten twice at WDM Valley

WEST DES MOINES -- Waukee blanked Linn-Mar, 3-0, Friday night in a girls soccer game at Valley High School.

Waukee is ranked second in Class 2A.

The Lions lost a 2-1 decision to West Des Moines Dowling on Saturday morning. Madisen Garman scored Linn-Mar's goal.

Dowling is ranked fifth in Class 3A, Linn-Mar 10th. The Lions dropped to 9-6.

Linn-Mar girls notch 5th straight soccer win

DUBUQUE -- Linn-Mar notched its fifth straight win, hammering Dubuque Hempstead, 4-0, Thursday in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls soccer game.

Kali Hubler, Emily Saville, Lindsey Harms and Brinkly Werkman scored goals for the 10th-ranked Lions (9-4, 8-4 MVC). Werkman had two assists.

Hempstead is 7-8, 5-7.
