Wagemester sparks Prairie by Rams

DUBUQUE - Jenna Wagemester collected 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals Friday night as the Cedar Rapids Prairie girls basketball team rolled by Dubuque Senior, 69-30, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game in Dubuque.

Halle Person scored eight points for Prairie.

The Hawks raised their record to 4-2. Dubuque Senior fell to 0-5.

Cedar Valley girls fall to North Linn

SPRINGVILLE – The Cedar Valley Christian girls basketball team kept the game close for the first half, but fell to undefeated North Linn 57-31 Friday.

Candace Wilson scored 11 points for Cedar Valley (0-5), which trailed 23-20 at halftime.

Morgan Boer had 20 points for North Linn (6-0) and Ashley Tull added 17.

Cedar Valley boys dumped by Lynx

SPRINGVILLE – The Cedar Valley Christian boys basketball team trailed 51-9 at halftime and went on to lose to North Linn, 74-25, Friday.

Kelvin Ritter scored seven points for Cedar Valley. Travis Geels had six points, 11 rebounds, four assists and a block.

Cedar Valley is 0-4, while North Linn is 4-0.

No. 6 Marion girls rip Williamsburg

The sixth-ranked Marion girls basketball team hit eleven 3-point goals and crushed Williamsburg, 64-23, Friday at Marion.

Chloe Rice scored 22 points to lead the Indians. Caitlin Smith had 11 points with three 3-pointers.

Marion improved to 4-1, while Williamsburg fell to 2-4.

The seventh-ranked Kennedy girls basketball team glided past Xavier, 47-25, Friday at Kennedy after leading 25-7 at halftime.

Lela Sellers had 18 points for the Cougars (5-1) and Olivia Hellweg added eight points.

Meghan Joens had seven points for the Saints (2-4).
