DUBUQUE - The Prairie Hawks pushed across a run in the top of the 10th inning Monday and trimmed No.4 Dubuque Senior, 4-3, in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference softball doubleheader in Dubuque.
Dubuque Senior won the second game, 8-2.
Katie Kuch tossed all 10 innings in the first game for Prairie (9-7, 5-5). She did not allow a run in eight of those innings and finished with five strikeouts.
Brittney Lash went 3-for-5 and scored three runs for Prairie in the opener. Gabi Carter was 2-for-5 with three RBIs.
Mallory Jones and Malia Gudenkauf went 2-for-3 for the Hawks in the nightcap.
