Cedar Rapids Prairie jumped into the Class 4A baseball rankings Monday for the first time this season, but the celebration did not last very long.
The No.8 Hawks collected only two hits Tuesday and were blanked by North Scott, 8-0, in a non-conference game at the Prairie field.
North Scott (8-12) snapped Prairie's eight-game winning streak and dropped the Hawks to 17-7 for the season.
After the Lancers defeated Prairie, they went over to Xavier and dropped an 11-1 verdict to the Saints in five innings.
