WATERLOO - Kennedy tallied 25 runs on 20 hits and swept a Mississippi Valley Conference baseball doubleheader from Waterloo West, 12-6 and 13-1, Friday night at West.

Kennedy (19-15, 15-9) trailed 5-1 after three innings in the opener.

But the Cougars scored three runs in the fourth inning and eight in the fifth to retake the lead, 12-5.

Andrew Johnson's bases-clearing double broke a 5-5 tie and highlighted the eight-run frame.

David King started and pitched six innings for the win.

Brock Skow was 3-for-3 with four RBIs in the five-inning nightcap. Matt Stevens was 2-for-2, and Stevens and Ben Sass drove in three runs apiece. Johnson scored four times.

Kennedy broke the game open with five runs in the fourth inning, then tacked on five more in the fifth to put the game away.
