Buxton was named the MVP in the Midwest League this season and was named the Minor League Player of the Year by Baseball America.

Buxton will be honored at the 9th Annual Diamond Awards dinner Jan. 23 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Past winners of the Sherry Robertson Award with the Twins include Kent Hrbek (1981), David Ortiz (1997) and Joe Mauer (2003).
