RoughRiders tripped by Muskegon, 6-5

MUSKEGON, Mich. - Alex Toscano scored for Muskegon with 2 minutes, 31 seconds left in the third period Wednesday morning to snap a 5-5 tie and give his team a 6-5 victory over Cedar Rapids in a USHL game before 3,937 fans at the L.C. Walker Arena.

The RoughRiders trailed, 5-3, in the third period but tied the game on goals by Judd Peterson and Nick Master.

Andrew Poturalski and Mark Auk gave Cedar Rapids a 2-0 lead with goals in the first period. Muskegon scored the next three goals to grab a 3-2 advantage, but Alec Marsh tied the seesaw affair 3-3 with a goal in the second period.

 

Muskegon scored the next two goals for its 5-3 advantage, the RoughRiders tied it 5-5 and Muskegon got its late goal from Toscano for the victory.

The RoughRiders host Des Moines Friday night at 7:05.
