Balanced Saints knock off Waverly

Adam McDermott led four players into double figures with 15 points Saturday as the Xavier Saints defeated Waverly-Shell Rock, 58-49, in a non-conference basketball game at Xavier.

McDermott also collected six rebounds and three steals for Xavier (2-0).

Calvin Winker scored 13 points, Andrew Bisenius had 11 and Matt Nelson added 10 markers for the Saints.

 

Dan Stensland and Jake Velky scored 13 points apiece for Waverly-Shell Rock (1-1).

WAVERLY-SHELL ROCK (49): Stensland 5 2-3 13, Velky 5 0-0 13, Werkman 1 1-1 3, Wiltse 1 1-1 3, Mosley 0 0-0 0, Demuth 1 0-0 3, Westendorf 5 1-2 12, Phyfe 1 0-1 2. Totals 19 5-8 49.
