No.6 Cougars fall to No.5 Waukee in OT

WAUKEE - Fifth-ranked Waukee used a 17-5 blitz in the second quarter to build a 10-point lead and held off No.6 Kennedy, 45-43, in overtime Saturday night in girls basketball.

Paige Hendrickson led Kennedy (8-2) with 13 points.

Reilly Jacobson scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Waukee (9-0). The Warriors had 16 team steals.

 

KENNEDY (43): Meier 2 4-4 9, DeLong 0 0-0 0, Vis 0 0-0 0, Langhurst 0 0-0 0, Hellweg 0 0-0 0, Hayden 1 0-0 3, Milbrath 0 0-0 0, Hendrickson 4 4-4 13, Botkin 3 3-5 9, Martin 3 2-2 9. Totals 13 13-15.
