Marion girls mow down Maquoketa, 40-27

MAQUOKETA - Holli Jones, Amanda Sahm and Michalyn Mohr combined for 34 points that carried Marion past Maquoketa, 40-27, Tuesday night in Wamac girls basketball.

Jones scored 12 points, and Sahm and Mohr both tallied 11.

Marion (5-12, 5-9) trailed 6-5 at the end of the first quarter, but outscored the Cardinals (5-13, 5-9) by 16-7 to hold a 21-13 lead at halftime.
