IOWA CITY - The Cedar Rapids Prairie baseball team took out some of its frustrations on the Iowa City High Little Hawks Friday.
Prairie swept City High, 14-0 in five innings and 7-2, in Iowa City.
Prairie raised its records to 12-20 overall and 10-14 in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
Trey Beckman went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBIs in the first game. Jalen Rima went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Corbin Day was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Cal Clark had two hits, Drew Yanecek drove in two runs and Keenan Kilpatrick scored twice.
Yanecek pitched a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts.
Ben Boldt went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Prairie in the nightcap. Clark and Nick Benson also drove in two runs. Nic Mougin scored twice.
Mougin pitched five innings for the win. Ben Milks tossed two scoreless frames for a save.
