Mosbach wins 2 titles for Mount Mercy

STERLING, Ill. – Liz Mosbach won two events to lead the Mount Mercy women’s track team at the Midwest Collegiate Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Westwood Sports Center.

The Mount Mercy women finished fourth with 111 points and the men were fifth with 33.

Mosbach won the 600 meters in 1 minute, 38.50 seconds and won the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 4 inches for the Mustangs. She also placed second in the triple jump at 35-3, was third in the 400 in 59.75 and was fourth in the 800 in 2:24.03.

Lindsay Brunson was second in the mile in 5:28.85 for the Mount Mercy women, Nichole Sanborn was third in the long jump at 16-9.75, and Danielle Schroeder was third in the high jump at 4-11.75.

Evan Bowman was second in the 3,000 and 5,000 for the Mount Mercy men in 9:24.93 and 16:22.46, respectively. The Mustangs' team of Monueir Moody, Rick Gonzalez, Anthony Crawley and Kevon Farquharson finished fifth in the 4x400 in 3:42.84.

1. St. Ambrose 205.5; 2. William Penn 200; 3. Grand View 169; 4. Clarke 62; 5. Mount Mercy 33; 6. Viterbo 23.5.

WOMEN'S STANDINGS

1. St. Ambrose 238; 2. Grand View 131; 3. Clarke 114; 4. Mount Mercy 111; 5. Viterbo 46; 6. William Penn 35.
