WAVERLY - The Kirkwood Eagles captured top honors at the Wartburg Invitational golf tournament at Prairie Links Saturday.
Max Thrune and Louis Flynn of Kirkwood submitted identical 36-hole scores of 3-over-par 147 with rounds of 72 and 75, but Thrune was crowned the individual champion in a playoff.
Kirkwood claimed the team championship by 12 shots over UW-Stout in the 12-team field.
JD Goodfellow of Kirkwood finished third at 148, just one shot behind his teammates.
