SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Mount Mercy men's basketball team raced to a 30-point lead in the second half Saturday and dunked Evangel, 93-74, in a Heart of America Conference game.
The Mustangs (6-5, 3-4) led by 18 points at halftime, 48-30, and kept motoring from there.
Dennis McKinney paced Mount Mercy with 24 points. Antwain Strong scored 15 points. Mychael Brawner-Henley scored 11 points and DJ Johnson contributed 10 points. Mike Evans had nine points and nine rebounds.
Jacob Smith scored 12 points for Evangel, which fell to 1-11 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
Mount Mercy is tied for sixth place out of 13 teams in the Heart of America.
