Hawks lose opener

MUSCATINE -- Freshman Madison Dellamuth scored a team-high 20 points, but Prairie was upended by Muscatine, 50-44, Nov. 20 in its season opener.

Dellamuth, Mackenzie Blaha and Alyssa Weiland combined for 41 of the Hawks' points.

Prairie led 13-3 after the first quarter and 26-23 at halftime. But the Muskies led 38-36 after three quarters and outscored the Hawks 12-8 in the final stanza.

PRAIRIE (44): Kaitilyn Yanacek 0 0-0 0, Katie Carver 0 1-2 1, Mackenzie Blaha 3 2-2 10, Shelby Crist 1 0-0 2, Madison Dellamuth 7 4-8 20, Megan Galloway 0 0-1 0, Alyssa Weiland 4 3-7 11, Katie Wieland 0 0-0 0. Totals 15 10-20 44.
