A $5,000 reward is being offered for the arrest of the person (or persons) responsible for the shooting death of Latasha Roundtree, the Cedar Rapids Police Department announced Tuesday morning.
A citizen contacted the Linn County Crime Stoppers to offer the reward, which would be in addition to the Linn County Crime Stoppers reward.
Roundtree, 19, was shot Saturday night and was pronounced dead at 3:05 a.m. Sunday. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School this past spring and played basketball for the girls basketball team.
The reward would be authorized if the information provided leads to an arrest of the person or persons responsible for the shooting.
The public is encouraged to report information regarding the shooting to Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME (272-7463) or text to CRIMES (274637). In the message/subject, type 5227 and your tip. You can continue to trade information with an investigator or can text STOP to discontinue at any time.
