Cougars roar past Burlington in opener

BURLINGTON - Kennedy outscored Burlington by 13 points in the second quarter and cruised past the Grayhounds, 56-43, Friday night in a season-opening boys basketball game for the Cougars.

Johnathon Koelling scored 19 points and Patrick Martin added 14 to lead Kennedy.

Benjamin Struss scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Cougars. Koelling also had 10 rebounds.

Justin Randall's 14 points led Burlington (0-2).

Kennedy led 13-11 after the first quarter, but outscored Burlington 19-6 in the second period to build a 32-17 lead.
