Saints comeback comes up short

IOWA CITY - Ally Disterhoft scored 30 points and Iowa City West held off a valiant fourth-quarter comeback by Xavier to clip the Saints, 55-52, Friday night in girls basketball.

Kayla Armstrong had 16 points to lead Xavier (12-9, 8-5). Haley Deutmeyer added 10.

Mikaela Morgan scored 11 points for West (16-5, 10-3).

West built a 34-23 lead by halftime and the Women of Troy still led, 46-36, after three quarters.

Xavier climbed to within 53-50 with a minute left in the game, but couldn't pull off the comeback.

The game was the regular-season finale for both clubs.
